BENEATH HER BEAUTY

by - November 23, 2017

Can you see her? with her unsteady gaits,
It shows how tired she is.
But home feels like the hornet's nest.
No, she doesn't wait for her man for chop money,
She provides, even as the "supposed neck"
And yet you call her the weaker one?
Can you see her?
She is a strong black woman
She has defied all gravity as the neck,
With the sun as her harbour daily.
In her eyes opens the flood of love, warmth and determination.
Where does she get all that strength from?
She is fragile, to be protected
But here she stands; unapologetic for her femaleness.
